HOUSTON, TX, October 17, 2007 — Univision Radio, the largest Spanish-language radio broadcaster in the United States, today announced that its English-language radio station KPTY Party 104.9-FM “Houston’s Hip-Hop Station” is making history with the grand opening of Studio 104.9, its cutting-edge, state-of-the-art satellite broadcast studio, at the Urban Zone, Houston’s “Hip-Hop Marketing Store” inside Sharpstown Mall, Houston’s “Hip-Hop Mall.” The event will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2007, from 2 – 4 pm at Sharpstown Mall (located at 7500 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX at the intersection of Interstate 59 South).

Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Rob G & Lil’ Keke are among the nationally recognized star-studded hip-hop artists that will be on hand to celebrate, together with nationally, regionally, and locally recognized politicians, and numerous community activists and supporters. (The line up is subject to change.)

Through their groundbreaking collaboration, Party 104.9 FM, the Urban Zone and Sharpstown Mall have created the premiere hub for hip-hop in the Houston metropolitan area and beyond. Studio 104.9 will broadcast and mix live from Sharpstown Mall on a regular basis, and together Studio 104.9, the Urban Zone, and Sharpstown Mall will sponsor seminars on music production and marketing, host artist meet-and-greets, autograph signings, community events benefiting local non-profit organizations, and so much more!
